Sharpies are pretty fantastic.



Once upon a time I flew to Saint Louis (where I used to go to school) and drove with a friend to the Appetite for Construction show in Springfield, IL. She likes Relient K now, score one for the team. After the show, I talked to a couple of the guys and showed them some sharpie scribbles I did. Ethan, who was playing Super Tech back then, was super nice, hung out for a bit, and liked the drawings! The funniest reaction was when John commented that Dave appeared to be shaving with the screwdriver in his hands. Also, I had to inform him that unfortunately, what he's holding are PVC pipes, not blueprints. Or are they? Maybe the interpretation is up to the viewer. That way, everyone's happy.

Unless you interpret it as Dave poking himself in the eye. Not cool.

You've got some nerdy on you.

This is something I actually did tonight (the rest of the stuff blogged so far is old.) I was inspired by a friend of mine, who started spamming my google chat with a ton of hilarious pictures she found at www.graphjam.com (which was inspired by a different source, I'm pretty sure.) Hmm, how about that. I'm starting to notice a trend of following internet trends here. I guess that's modern culture for ya...

I got really sick of doing these after the fourth one, because there was too much calculating involved. It's okay, you can laugh. Luckily, my hatred for math and love for Relient K are non-proportional.

The fantastic Melanie put together a farewell project for Dave on the RKMB, and here's my submission to it. Well, half of it, the rest of it is a secret only Dave (and the guys, and probably Melanie, and whoever else read the book?) knows. Mmm, pseudo-exclusivity!

Simpsonized.

So who didn't do this when the Simpsons movie came out, right? I'm pretty sure I saw a Switchfooty version floating around, and then there was also one Jon made of himself. I sent this to him back in the day and he featured it on his blog, because he's a cool dude.

Apparently this is a really big file, so I have to put it under a cut.

Wordy Icons.


Remember those lj icons that were trendy and rhyme-y and all over the place in late 2007? I made some too... because who doesn't enjoy a fashionable (or not) journal? If you'd like to take an icon, feel free. If you're using it on a journal site I'd appreciate a courtesy mention in the icon comments (ie, "made by [info]rkart) so people know where to get 'em!

Also, no bandwidth banditry allowed. Please save these to your computer and upload them to your own server, or the whole set will go down :( And then I might call the bandwidth police...

WHAT...IS...IT...??

I love being artsy fartsy. A lot of what I do is influenced by my favorite music, and, well, you guessed it... Relient K is one of my favorite bands. This was going to be a cartoon and doodle type blog, but in the past few months since I decided to start it, I've actually ended up making a ton of different forms of what could be considered art. (I also enjoy stretching definitions.) I'll update when I can.
